New York Knicks Hope to Trade Spike Lee

First the Knicks fired coach Isiah Thomas and today it was reported they are looking to trade their #1 fan, Spike Lee, to another organization.

Said one spokesperson, "Spike simply is not a good fit for the Knicks organization and we are actively pursuing other fans to replace him."

Knicks management is rumored to have approached well known fans, such as Jack Nicholson of the Lakers and Eva Longoria of the Spurs, who have sat courtside and actually brought their teams good luck and a winning record.

According to the Knicks upper management, the numbers speak for themselves: Since the acquisition of Spike as a fan, the Knicks have repeatedly produced teams with losing records.

In fact, Spike's most famous moment as a Knicks fan was during the Knicks loss (93-86 to the Indiana Pacers) in Game 5 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals. Spike taunted and goaded Reggie into going on a shooting spree which resulted in a 25-point 4th quarter and a big Knicks loss.

The next day following that game, the headline of the New York Daily News sarcastically said, "Thanks A Lot Spike".

"We've had a long run with Spike and we've appreciated his efforts over the years. But honestly, right now, we are in the midst of a major rebuilding effort and we're looking at every aspect of the team, including the fans," said a Knicks spokesman.

The Knicks are desperate and have even considered celebrities such as Mos Def and d-lister Tara Reid to replace Spike.

So stay tuned Knicks fans.
